Have you ever seen someone in passing but kinda forget about them until they are brought to your attention again and you're like "Wow, isn't that so and so! I remember seeing them at such and such". Your memory is jogged and everything comes full circle. Yeah? Well that's the story of how I was introduced and reintroduced to Young Simba herself, the one and only Ella Mai. Being a millennial, accustomed to the digital age, I first came across Ella, while browsing through Instagram. She used to post 15 second covers of popular songs bac...

On this edition of Music Monday's, I present to you the curly haired and honeyed-vocal R&B crooner that goes by the name of Kyle Dion. He was brought to my attention back in 2014 when I heard a track called "How We Do Us" from Kehlani's "Cloud 19" mixtape that featured Kyle himself. I was immediately intrigued and drawn in by his warm tone and effortless transitions between notes. My focus has always been somewhere else and I never thought too much about it until I got older and saw how drastic the separation could be at times. I started to notice what I truly had no interest in and what I was fascinated by in comparison to the world. With social media it's easy to see what everyone is talking about at any given time, what the gossip is and what everyone se...

It's currently 2:29 AM and I just spent the last 2 hours or so standing in the livingroom of my aunt's house talking to my cousin. It was a surprise visit and I was hype to see her. She lives in Texas, we have the same birthday but we're 18 years apart and I just haven't seen her in awhile. It was quite late when she got here and everyone went straight to bed but we got to talking and I'm sitting here now just reeling from our conversation.

Although we are 18 years apart we connect on so many levels. Idk if it's because we are related...
